A DIFFERENT APPROACH

By now, it is clear that we are not always able to connect with those vehemently in support of the oppressive measures that began in early 2020. Arguing about the subject, no matter how gently can trigger a fight or flight response, spiraling the conversation out of control, making it ineffective in creating change. This is not a comment to take away from the notion that with enough love and care, time and effort, people can be swayed to see things differently but time is of the essence. The public opinion in Canada (and many other places) is shifting but only slightly. The urgency with which we must reach out to the majority of the population increases every day. These protests are an attempt at doing just that!.

LIKE A PRESSURE RELEASE VALVE

Looking around the world we can see a variety of protest activity as a result of civilian unrest. These protests are not always peaceful or effective. Sometimes, demonstration can get in the way of vital and otherwise non implicated business, governmental or private activity. Often, tenstions escelate. The rally-goers in Canada recognize that peaceful forms of protest are the way forward. Non-intrusive but still non-compliant protest is the most effective way to maintain a smart and cool headed social movement. One that is is at once effective in sending a message and attractive to those on the sidelines as well. And hopefully, one that garners the attention of the media at large.

NATURAL AND CIVILIZED PROTEST

This collection of protests promotes the free expression and free will of human beings, inciting the Charter of Rights and Freedoms along with the Human Rights Act. All constitutional and human rights laws will be observed, including various best practices. Alongside the creative intention of any affiliated protest, a shared core tenant is observed, the principle of universal-non-aggression. And with freedom of choice, risk awareness and crowd safety measures, the protests aim to be professional and reasonable regulation abiding.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARNESS

At the core of these protests is the simple idea that the government and mainstream media lead oppression is creating an active mental health emergency. The negative effects of lockdowns have already proven to be magnitudes of order more damaging to society than the entire gamut of covid-19 diseases as described by officials. Through the direct act of effective protests alongside the promotion of a mental health awareness campaign Freedom Festival aims to help curb the effects of this emergency

FLATTEN THE CURVE OF DESPAIR

The wide range negative social effects of despair, including the deterioration of mental and physical health is horrifically understated by the Government and the mainstream media. Everyone is effected and so the outreach and empowerment components of the protests is made to be appealing to a wide range of demographics. Together, through outreach, empowerment and community building we will flatten the curve of despair.
